Rachael’s history with massage begins when she was 9 years old. In grade school and middle school, she earned extra lunch money giving neck massages to her classmates. As a teenager, she was involved in a very serious automobile accident, and the only relief she experienced from the chronic headaches was her mother’s natural knack for massage.
Many years later, after moving to Seattle, Rachael decided to pursue massage as a career and attended the Northwest Academy for the Healing Arts in West Seattle, graduating with an emphasis on Clinical and Rehabilitative Bodywork. During her massage training, long standing issues from her old accident were interfering with her ability to massage others, so she began treatment for her own postural issues at Collins Chiropractic. Pleased at her own progress away from pain and towards greater health, she was happy to join the team after graduation in 2009.
Rachael brings her own personal experiences with chronic pain and chiropractic care into her treatment sessions, personalizing each session with an empathetic and understanding touch. She practices Swedish massage, Deep Tissue massage, Myofascial release and Trigger point therapies. She tailors each treatment to each person’s needs, whether they need injury rehabilitation or relaxation. She believes that the human body is self healing and massage is an excellent way to pursue vibrant good health.
Rachael is also a professional member of ABMP (Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals) and has a keen interest in learning more about health and wellness.
In her off time, she loves to sing, make jewelry, learn yoga and receive massage!
